Angie Smith

After a highly successful career as a businesswoman in the beauty/fashion and makeup industry, Angie turned her organisational and interpersonal skills towards a career as a film producer. Quickly she has become one of Australia’s brightest young producing prospects.

This is not surprising considering Angie’s impeccable business savvy, undoubted persistence and resourcefulness as a producer who always brings every production in on time and budget.

Angie works closely with Martin in order to realise his creative vision within the client’s budget range but with an ever present mind-set of delivering Soul Films brand expectation of producing world-class production values. The results of her producing style can be seen in the 400 high-end tv commercials that she has produced in the last 16 years that have a combined budget of 10 million dollars.

Angie has also produced over a million dollars worth of filmic drama working with respected institutions that include Screen Australia, ShowTime Australia, ScreenWest, SBS Independent and the Melbourne International Film Festival.

The Screen Australia/ScreenWest funded drama “Wait Til’ Your Father Gets Home” won “Best Short Film” at the ATOM Awards and at SPAA, while also being chosen as the “People’s Choice Award” for IF Magazine. It was selected as a finalist for “Best Short Film” at the New York, Melbourne IFF and St Kilda Film Festivals.

Based on Angie’s previous track record she was chosen as the Australian producer for the Australian leg of Jerry Bruckheimer’s CBS series “The Amazing Race”.
